A one-on-one comprehensive physical therapy evaluation is performed to assess and diagnose a patient's current condition (region of injury, limitations, restrictions), with evaluation on neuromusculoskeletal strength, joint range of motion, postural stability, and functional biokinetics.
Developmental pediatrics (early interventions) physical therapy focuses on helping infants and toddlers (ages 0-36 months) with movement, motor skills, and physical development. It addresses delays or impairments in areas such as strength, range of motion, muscle tone, balance, coordination, posture, and mobility that may result from orthopedic, neurological, and/or genetic conditions or injuries. The goal is to support optimal physical growth, independence, and participation in daily activities to meet age-appropriate milestones through individualized, play-based, and family-centered interventions.
Manual (hands-on) treatments are provided as appropriate to patient's specific injury/condition. Types of manual techniques that may be performed include joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization and massage, myofascial release, strain-counterstrain, traction, and muscle energy techniques.
Comprehensive and specific therapeutic exercises are instructed to improve patient's strength, stability, flexibility, coordination, endurance, and/or gait with the goal of targeting and improving functional deficits as well as reduce biomechanical dysfunctions. Because we work with our patients one-on-one, our patients receive full attention from our Physical Therapist to ensure proper body mechanics and efficient exercise progression.
Home exercise programs are provided by the Physical Therapist via "MedBridge Go" phone application/website. Patients can view their individualized (code-accessed) exercise program with follow-along videos and verbal instructions. This allows patients to maximize their recovery at home.
